Am I being a sucker?

I’ve been doing some researching and found AR-15’s are the most popular choice.

I am wondering if this platform AR-15 with BCM parts would be a good rifle to go with.

I don’t mind the price tag I am just wondering if this would be a reliable rifle to get well acquainted with.

Please let me know your thoughts and what would be good attachments for it.
