Is there any way to feasibly make this ratchet joint support the weight?

I can’t tell if the joint is just weak or if it’s just supporting way too much weight (these parts were ordered new on bricklink) but I suspect it’s the latter. I made sure it’s clicked in all the way as well. I’m considering replacing them with ball joints and friction extenders to see if that’s any better, but I’m main looking for confirmation on if its weak joints or just too much weight
