Inspired by Doechii's Grammy Win
I'm on day 2 of quitting. Been smoking for a decade now. Chronic probably for 8 of those years. I've tried to quit numerous occasions. Covid set me back a lot. Have a high stress job and healing from some abusive relationships (work, personal) made it more difficult. But watching Doechii's speech at the Grammy's genuinely inspired me. She mentioned how she became sober and made this album and it just really hits because I see her success. I see how hard she worked and how hard she continues to work to be an amazing artist. I really appreciate that she mentioned her sobriety (she admits in her songs she used to smoke) in her speech, cuz you don't often hear that. We see so many people who smoke regularly and are perceived as successful, lending to the narrative that the ganja isn't harmful.
It was honestly really pleasant to see someone I respect as an artist be so successful and respected and publicly attribute some of that to sobriety.
