How do I build a good resume?

So I’m in the process of changing careers, I’ve worked in the science industry for 7 years and have a bachelors and masters in that field. I recently finished a coding course in Front End Development, and am now looking to start applying for jobs.

Everywhere I look, I see advice about tailoring your resume to the job. So I’m just unsure how much of my job/school history to include in the resume. And as a 30 year old, who has been working since they were 16, do I need to include my job history back that far?

I also plan on organising a LinkedIn profile, and unsure of what to include/not include.
