Gaming laptop price

So I read everywhere how 8 GB VRAM is already insufficient and how it is not worth it for gaming and I won't be able to run some games on it next year. Well... I'm browsing the e-shops and I can't stop wondering.

4GB laptops in my country start at 15.000 CZK

6GB 18.000 CZK

8GB 23.000 CZK

-nothing in between-

12GB 50.000 CZK

16GB 73.000 CZK

This is so everywhere? I.e. either you buy a laptop for one salary, but you won't play games on it, or you buy one for two salaries and you will play games on it in two years, but not in a great way? Not crying, just wondering if I'm missing something?
