Take-aways after the Nets game
1. All of the referees in the league have to be investigated by an outside third party for rigging games and bias against certain Teams/Players.
I thought they were only bias against the Mavericks, because of what Cuban did/said after the 06 finals, but after watching the Lakers and Mavs since the trade, I see that most referees started to call Mavericks games fairly and the Lakers getting completely robbed of calls. It seems to be a Luka thing not an organization one. It absolutely mind boggeling that the league has 63 referees and as soon as I read 10 of those names on the game day assignments, I know how and in which favor the game will be officiated, on the other hand there are only 5 where I feel like the game is always called fairly in both directions.
2. Claxton is not the piece we need/want in the offseason.
Its not that he is bad or doesnt fit our needs, more so that he is grossly overpaid. I was on the fence with Claxton, after watching videos of his last seasons and that game confirmed a lot of my concernes. We didnt have a big man in for half the game and he wasnt able to punish smaller guys in the post and wasnt the switchable big man rim protector he is praised as, he got often smoked on drives after switches and didnt deter lay-up attepms just with his presance, like Lively or Wemby. Day'Ron Sharpe seems like a better/cheaper alternative, with his upcoming contract offseason. Hed does most of it a bit worse, but will be cheaper and is ba better offensive rebounder.
