TRIM vs TRIMs
My coworker and I were reading, and he noticed an interesting detail- TRIM (tripartite motif family) and TRIMs (Terminal-repeat retrotransposon in miniature) have identical names, but we can't seem to find a meaningful way to differentiate between these two ideas & of they refer to similar things, or happen to have a similar name.
Does anyone who is more familiar with these concepts have insight as to the difference/similarity of TRIM and TRIMs? Or are they unrelated and happen to have similar acronyms?
