Did I pay a good price? 3ct VS1 E

My boyfriend and I bought a 3ct. VS1 E oval lab grown diamond with a yellow gold band. We paid $2681 after taxes. Before this local store we were only looking at jewelry store chains so this price felt like it couldn’t be beat. Now looking back I can’t stop thinking about how I didn’t do enough research even though I thought I did. I mixed up VVS1 with VS1, didn’t even see how many karats were in the gold, didn’t ask about cut quality, etc. It was impulsive and now I’m upset. Owner said no returns either. Did I get ripped off?
