People supporting people
I’m looking for a new drama to watch and would love something that highlights healthy, supportive relationships, whether it’s between friends, co-workers, family, lovers, or even strangers who grow close and form bonds.
I love dramas that show meaningful connections between people. It's really heartwarming to see people lift each other up, laugh together, be there for each other, protect and care for each other. If you have any recommendations that fit this vibe, I’d love to hear them!
Here are some dramas I’ve watched that had this:
Hospital Playlist (supportive friends, coworkers, family)
Reply 1988 (supportive neighbors, friends, family)
Work Later, Drink Now (supportive friends—I loved how these women were there for each other in both dark times and good times)
Thirty, But Seventeen (supportive found family)
Moving (supportive and protective family)
The Uncanny Counter (another great found family)
Extraordinary Attorney Woo (supportive coworkers and a healthy romantic relationship)
It's Okay, That’s Love (supportive housemates/friends and romance)
Into The Ring (supportive ML and parents)
Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo (supportive leads that I love very much)
Ho Goo’s Love (support is the biggest focus here, especially from the ML—one of the kindest characters I’ve seen in K-dramas. His parents were great too!)
Romance is a Bonus Book (supportive ML and coworkers—I loved the coworkers relationship in this drama)
Twinkling Watermelon (supportive friends/family)
Mad For Each Other (supportive leads)
Castaway Diva (also has supportive people)
Her Private Life (supportive leads)
Fight For My Way (supportive friends and romance)
Racket Boys (supportive teammates, found family, and mentors)
Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha (supportive small-town community and romance)
Age of Youth (supportive roommates and friendships)
My Roommate is a Gumiho (loved the platonic friendships in this one, especially the one between the two gumihos)
Happiness (supportive leads—they protect each other throughout the whole drama. Although I didn't love this drama, I really liked the two leads)
Crash Landing On You (supportive group, kind of a found family too)
When the Weather Is Fine (supportive community—the book club was heartwarming, and this drama is so cozy to watch, but it can be heavy too)
Dear My Room (supportive friendship—this is so relaxing to watch and one of my comfort dramas)
Currently watching: Prison Playbook (watching this one slowly—I know from this PD's dramas that it takes me a bit to connect at first, but I’m used to that) and Love Scout.
On hold: My Mister (kind of feeling the same with this one, that’s why it’s on hold)
Two other of my favorite dramas are Our Blues and One Spring Night. While they do show some relationships of support, they also focus heavily on the struggles of the opposite type of relationships. Because of this, Our Blues can be very emotional, and One Spring Night can be quite frustrating at times, and I'd prefer to watch something more similar to the other dramas I mentioned.
I enjoyed all of the dramas I've mentioned and I'm okay with anything (from any genre too) that you suggest and think it fits the title.
I only mentioned the ones I remembered from the top of my head, so I'm also gonna list my MDL here because I've seen a good number of dramas: https://mydramalist.com/dramalist/laotrish
Thanks in advance!
Edit: I forgot to add Doctor Slump.
