GA rep addresses rumors
I spoke to our GA rep today about some of the rumors that have been floating around on here. He seems to know what he's doing and is very comfortable with this process. That being said, he does represent a liquidation company and could very likely be some sort of imp wearing a suit of human skin.
The group he is handling includes 300A, FleetA, and 300B stores. We are a 300B store. I asked about the rumors that we will be closing early and he said that all the stores will be closing at the same time. (I don't think he specifically meant the whole company of course, and we are supplied by DC06, so again, grain of salt) The stores will close within a 2 week period of mid-late May. He says it takes a couple days to close each store, so he will essentially just drive around from store to store closing his 7 during that 2 weeks.
I asked about the sales being different to push our stock lower to we would close first ETC, and he said there's like a sales/stock ratio or something like that, so if the store starts selling too much, it will jump to another group and its sales will slow. As a 300B store, a lot of our customers are STILL bitching about prices even with our fleece at 60% off. We still have a fairly full yarn section to the point that customers are coming to shop from other stores because our idiots are waiting for the sales to get better.
Also he said to tell people to check back in mid May about picking up their fixtures so you don't have to call them all! I think there was more but I'm tired.
EDIT: Oh yeah! The reason we aren't selling our actual cutting counter or the strung bead aisle is because the buyer would have to hire an electrician to take them out safely, so if someone inquires, we can direct them to the GA rep, but that someone would likely already know that.
