I’m a female bartender & bar owner in Japan, AMA
Hi everyone! I’m a foreign woman living in Japan, and I co-own a small all-you-can-drink karaoke bar. My bar has 15 seats, and offers a cozy atmosphere where everyone can easily chat and sing with other customers and, of course, the bartenders. I love local nightlife and am thankful to be soon entering our 3rd year in business. Happy to answer any questions on your mind and share a bit of my world with you
I can answer questions about: - What its like to work in Japanese nightlife - Rules, cultural expectations, and customer etiquette - Things bartenders LOVE (and things that are less appreciated) - The business aspect of running a small bar in Japan - Different types of bars in Japan, pricing systems - When trouble occurs (police calls, the notorious ‘Japanese only’ signs, shady practices, getting turned away from a bar) - And anything else you are wondering about local nightlife!
