Flat Rock for kids?

Hello,

I am bringing my family to Ithaca for vacation this week and was bummed to learn that Treman won't be open until this weekend when we will be leaving.

Is flat rock an area that is suitable for small kids? 8 year olds that are good swimmers and a 4 year old that just wants to splash around.
