RIP Grumpy Grandpa

I just wanted to share that my favourite pod has died. He (I assume it's male but I'm not sure) had this black stain like furrowed eyebrows that made him looked grumpy but also cute. Here you can see him on a high fittonia leaf ranting at me because I sprayed to much the terrarium. He was very big, I guess he was from the first batch. I got 9 of them on November 2022. Now they are more the 30 so I guess he will be food for his grandchildren. The worst part is that lately he was very active, also on daylight and that made my happy. I just feel bad because yesterday I was doing some maintenance on the terrarium to add some fresh moss, cut down the fittonia in bad shape and add new cuttings. The biggest piece I added is a begonia the overgrown a smaller terrarium. So I moved apart some dried moss covering the surface, moved the soil with a brush and gently relocated the pods that rolled up to protect themselves. Some of them run away. In the process I found some dead remains, one bigger and one smaller and rests of exoskeletons. While I was doing all of this, Grumpy stared at me from a chewed apple moss hill. Bravely he didn't move. And I thought "look, he isn't scared of me anymore". He stayed there during the whole process. And he was there, I the same spot, this morning. At first I thought I scared the shit out of him. And I felt very bad. But then I realised that he probably didn't move in the first place because he was already dead. Rest in peace friend.
