Did anyone else leave the adhd women subreddit?

so I originally joined that subreddit to learn more about dealing with adhd and managing. And look, I get that it’s not a place that claims to have all the answers, but i noticed that most posts asking for guidance or advice got a lot of comments talking about how bad it’s been for them with a certain symptom and saying life sucks and it’s always going to be that way for the person, instead of offering advice that actually could be beneficial or at least give them hope to turn things around? It just seems to reinforce an echo chamber of negativity spiraling that paints a very depressing outlook on life for people with adhd. I left because every negative post saying how bad their day was due to adhd or that it ruined their job/social life/self image and caused them to fail at their goals/dreams was really discouraging and feels like a place that says you’re doomed to have a terrible life instead of a supportive space to help people if that makes sense. Like you should 100% accept having adhd, but you shouldn’t accept being chained down by it to not pursue the life you want. It’s not that people shouldn’t share these things, I just wish there were more positive posts on there to balance things out instead of an overwhelming amount of bad experiences.

it was worsening my perspective on living with adhd, maybe I’m overreacting though and it’s been helpful for other women? idk i’m just wondering if anyone else agrees or disagrees on this.

edit: thanks everyone! it’s nice to know that i’m not the only one who noticed these things, you all seem like cool people.
