Am an introvert or just awkward?

How can you tell the difference from being just plain awkward and being and introvert?

About me: I’m pretty quiet and keep to myself for the most part in school, I’m not a huge fan of social gatherings unless there are going to be at least 3 people i know there, although I’m pretty loud with the people I’m close with. I spend a lot of time alone, and after talking with someone in person, i always need some time alone to unwind. (Maybe that’s just a normal thing, idk) Maybe I’m a weird in between? I’ve always been told that I’m a introvert, but I’m just not too sure atp. If it matters, i suck at making friends. When it comes to making friends, I’m super awkward at first and run out of things to talk about right off the bat.
