Terrible on a leash

We recused a husky recently. He is a sweet loving guy, took a minute to understand what a family is. Our only issue is we can’t walk him on a leash. He pulls and does a weird bunny hop thing. “Trainer” said since he is 4 and never learned how to be leash trained chances are he might never be good on a leash. They also said don’t use a harness bc his will pull more due to instinct? Any suggestions?
