Just finished Whiskey 4 and

What's the deal with the anomalies? I liked the story and over all game but it would have been better to not have used the unknowable eldritch horror thing.

In the epilogue I got it says it doesn't exist and had no reason to do anything because it was meaningless to do anything so why did the cult do all of that.

Good game fun story would have been better to just let them be a doomsday cult with genocidal ideology rather than eldritch creature that does nothing nonsense.
