Why are you writing?
So, after my publishing attempts have been denied 5 times in a row. To stop myself from breaking a table with my head - I need to re-center. I know there are quite a bit of people in here that are writing and it was something that I was curious about for awhile.
So, what was a moment in your life or something that made you want to write?
I wanted to write because stories are something that made me push through the most miserable moments of my life. I feel like the purpose of stories is to infect people with ideas. Stories are how people teach each other, it is how we grow to understand the world around us. Be it through history, religion, art, politics, or just conversation we wish to impart our experiences and to matter to someone else, and we do it through stories. I have been obsessed with writing since I was a child - it is a part of me, a part of who I am, was, and - hopefully - will be. I may abandon writing for a year or two but I always return to it, I just can't seem to be able to leave it behind - no matter how much I have been hurt by this pursuit. I think this is why Charles Bukowski is my personal hero.
Anyway, why are you writing?
