Endings where the lesson is lost?
I just watched Blink Twice on Prime and thought it was an awesome concept until the end. SPOILERS!!!
Frida remembers. They escape. She takes over the company. I’ll suspend my disbelief on how that transfer of power would work for a former cocktail waitress to marry a disgraced billionaire to become the CEO of a Meta-like company that would undoubtedly tank stock prices for being the weirdest move in business, but what’s the lesson?
Are we supposed to cheer for Frida that she got her “success”? Or cheer that Slater got his comeuppance? Did Frida learn nothing and prove she’s just as abusive as her abusers?
Reminds me of the movie Source Code where the main character is successful in stopping the bomb but ends up stealing another man’s body and life.
I felt the ending was supposed to be morally ambiguous but just ended being morally empty. Maybe the lesson is there aren’t any lessons.
