Looked at a '25 today, might buy it but . . . warranty?

I asked about the warranty and the salesman told me there's a 3/36,000 on the engine BUT NOT the rest of the drive train. I've never heard of a warranty like this before. I'm pushing 75, the salesman was maybe 30, and I told him I remember when Chrysler came out with the 5/50,000 bumper-to-bumper maybe in the late 1960s or so, and everybody else jumped on board too, for a while.

Then some companies started scaling it back to 3/36,000 bumper-to-bumper OR AT LEAST the engine and drive train.

Did I hear this guy right? I'll probably buy it either way, but it just seems weird to me.
