New house...can we stack our washer and dryer?

My husband and I recently purchased a home with a laundry room right off the kitchen. In an ideal world we would lile to use the space as a pantry AND laundry room, but if we were to set our washer and dryer side by side, that becomes a bit of a challenge. We would like to stack the washer and dryer, but aren't sure if its possible with where fixtures are currently. We haven't purchased the machines yet, but we were already leaning towards something with the option to stack. Based on where the water hook ups and dryer vent are located, is there a world in which we could stack without having to physically move the location of the dryer vent itself?
