First snake!!

Got my first hognose snake today!!!! Suuuuuper excited for this journey ahead.

He was very fussy when first taking him out of course. We held him quickly for an introduction picture and then put him in his cage. He stayed in the same spot for a while but eventually moved. He was very cold when I picked him up so I made sure to put him back on the warm side.

I’m currently using a coconut fiber/chunk substrate mix. Also, I have a heating pad under the tank on the hot side (thermometer coming in tomorrow to monitor it) but I’m also thinking of adding a 50w basking bulb. Is that necessary?
