Gas cylinder lubrication.

Recently got myself a used Mirra 1 and was wondering what to use for lubrication of gas cylinder ?

I also made a mistake of using some WD-40 on it and it became a bit jerky when sitting (like I pass multiple levels). Then got some silicone lubricant and topped it with grease, which seemed to fix the problem more or less. However I am a bit worried about dust and other residue sticking and maybe clogging the cylinder.

So what is the best type of lubricant to go for in this case ? Was also thinking about using hydraulic oil, but not sure if it's any better.
