Cancelation and new offers

Hi there! I've been really enjoying HelloFresh - it's gotten me out of the 'grad student surviving off ramen and impulse takeout' rut I've been in for years. ... but as a grad student, I'm really on the lookout for discounts haha. And after the initial big 50-60% off ones, HF seems really fond of tacking on weeks of tiny 10% discounts which really don't help much at all (and seem to delay access to any other credits, like for missing ingredients? Does that apply to gift boxes too?).

I want to try the cancel / wait for them to send me offers and resusbscribe trick to get back to cheaper boxes before properly spreading my culinary wings - the thing is, there are several recipes coming up that I'd love to try with the safety net of 'not buying a whole tin of spices/jar of sauce/etc I'm not sure I'll ever use again'.

So: how long does it take for HelloFresh to crawl back begging for your subscription and toss discounts at you after you've canceled the plan? A week? Two weeks? A month? I just want to know if I can time my cancelation to try the recipes I'm interested in with a bigger discount, or if I should just tough it out and cough up the almost-full price.
