The split-screen is a thing, right?

Looking to get Halo Infinite for my kids on their Xbox One, just wanted to run it by the Reddit community (because there are conflicting reports on how well it all works), the split-screen coop campaign works, right?

I can power up the Xbox One, open the game (I assume there's a boatload of download, accepted), and play the coop campaign split screen with a 9 year old?
