Safe & affordable areas to move to

Hey everyone, I need some help.

For context: I’m 31 (F) & I’m looking to move asap to start a new life.

I don’t think I can afford to rent anything more than 1600$ per month. What are the safe areas that could fit my budget? I just need a small place for me and my 2 cats. I also never been to NS, I dont know anyone there, so any advice is welcome.
