A Few Questions About Luminous Avenger iX (SPOILERS!)

Hey guys, I have just a couple of questions that peaked my interest in Luminous Avenger iX.

Question 1: Does the "iX" in Copen's title of Luminous Avenger iX stand for 9? If so, is that 9 related to anything?

And Question 2: When Copen is defeated by Asimov.. oh sorry, "Demerzel", why is Lola unable to successfully revive him?
