while this sub community has been very supportive and insightful, please let this be a reminder to not let opinions and personal anecdotes disuade you from applying/reapplying to programs or accepting/rejecting programs.

no one here can accurately chance you except your prospective department’s program’s admissions team and… yourself. Only you have the utmost understanding of your CV and academic experience. Only you can take the chance on yourself. Don’t cut yourself short, and don’t compare yourself to anyone. Your past and future experiences are and will be uniquely your own.
