Consistently Breaking 80 tip.

Hey guys. Been on my goal journey to sub 5hc this year after coming in at a 15 about 3 years ago after a long hiatus from the game.

I feel like I've read about every pro tip there is online but I rarely see this posted and it's the biggest reason I feel I've been able to shoot consistently in the high 70s.

My club plays ~6750 from the back tees and has very difficult greens but you can over power the course if you are long.

When driver is on I usually have between 130 and 50 yards in on the par 4s. Learning how to hit every flavor of knockdown p/a/50/54 changed my game. Started hitting 10-11-12 GIR on my good days.

I almost never fully swing anything inside 130 yards. Learning to hit a comfortable controlled heavy forward divot knockdown gave me The confidence to control spin, distance and striking. No more full stock hero shot 120 yard 54° skulled over the back of the green.

Hope this helps someone else out there on their own journey
