Suggestions on things to add/improve to my gerbils cage.

Hello,

I am a fairly new gerbil owner, with existence more in dwarf hamster and fancy mice. I've been trying to find ways to add/improve their cage to make them happy and still active. They live in a 60L x 40W x 57H cm, the brand being pawhut cage. I got it for my dwarf hamster about five years ago, when he had passed away around a year ago. I wasn't too sure what I was gonna get in the future, I've been told by PetSmart that my cage was big enough for both my gerbils when I got them. (Let me know if I'm wrong, I was just so excited to get new companions that day.)

My two gerbils, Salt and Grain seem to love it. They only have one wheel. (Salt my gray gerbil doesn't use. I did buy another which was originally in the tank with them, but it took up too much room and Grain was slowly starting to eat the plastic). Currently in the cage, I have only wooden toys, as plastic is a big no no with grain. (Thinks he can literally eat everything and tries to eat anything in he's reach, my old fancy mice mini did that as well but grew out of it once she had gotten to her old cage) Two being the foldable wooden bridges that can turn into huts, a circle wooden hut that they love and borough in. Another plastic hut, which is usually for reptiles. I used with both my mice and dwarf hamster, lastly wooden sticks and a salt block.

They have their wheel on the second story, with their food being up too but every few days I sprinkle food into their fluff for enrichment. I use other supplements for both their food and water, which ensures they are getting all their nutrients and vitamins.

Let me know if there's anything you'd change or add, the photos I took was just after a cage cleaning. I hadn't added quite as much fluff as I had compacted it to allow them to fluff it to their liking. They also have a play pen which I take them out twice a week to run around for a few hours, I'd like to take them out more but work gets hectic sometimes.
