New Doctor Possibilities

I made a post the other day explaining some interesting distant hypotheticals for American actors who could, if albeit not should, play the Doctor. There was some obvious mixed opinions on the topic all together regarding the very idea of it.

But to assuade any concerns that I've lost my damn mind, here are some ACTUAL examples of BRITISH actors and actresses who I think actually could play the Doctor in the future.

  1. Alex Lawther:

I learned of Alex through End of the F****** World on Netflix. Since then, the only other thing I have seen him in was Andor, (I'm aware he is a much bigger celebrity across the pond, relax), but in both roles he showed some serious acting chops and he's certainly got the quirky energy to pull it off.

  1. Millie Bobby Brown:

Still a little young, but give her a few years and I think she could really hold her own in the Tardis. She's clearly got the acting chops for it. I'd love to see her take on a more self-serious role with a lot of gravitas to it. Give her some monologues to really chew through.

  1. Phoebe Waller-Bridge:

I'm surprised she doesn't come up more often when the topic arises. She clearly has the talent for it. She could play a really good rendition of 7. A sort of goofball Doctor who hides a darker personality bubbling underneath. She can also really pull off that 10/11 swashbuckler vibe. She'd be great.

I imagine her regenerating, noticing the rather obvious birthmark on her forehead and going "Huh, regeneration mark, haven't had one of those in a while"

  1. Steve Valentine:

Talk about an underrated actor. Dude has spent most of his career making his rounds as the guest star in nearly every police procedural in existence here in the States. For those unaware, he began his career as a magician. Which is the exact vibes I want him to bring. A never-too-serious Doctor who treats everything he does like a prolonged magic trick. Very razzle-dazzle and always full of showmanship. Dinner suit and jacket, red velvet scarf, and a walking cane for good measure. He should never not look like he just walked out of an Agatha Christie novel set in Victorian London.
