7 NIGHTS OF DARKNESS
- 7 Nights of Darkness - (2011) 90min on Tubi and Fawesome
In 2010, six reality television show contestants spent seven nights in an abandoned and haunted asylum. The show never aired but an editor for the network was able to piece together some footage. The prize for staying all seven nights was a share of one million dollars that was to be split amongst any contestants that didn't leave. No prize money was ever awarded.
Another decent “haunted location” movie. Not amazing but certainly watchable. The fact that the cast are there for a MTV style reality show makes it a little unique from the usual paranormal investigation FF movies. There were “talking head” interviews with all the contestants that provided a little backstory for each and their reactions to what was going on. They are all just contestants trying to survive for a cash prize and performing tasks rather than research and investigation.
It was a bit grainy at times and some narrow flashlight scenes, but that was part of the style and technology 15 years ago and the atmosphere of this movie. Some decent scares and creepiness, but nothing really that hasn’t been seen in many other FF “haunted house” movies.
The acting was fine. And they sure liked to argue and scream a lot! I was rooting for the Boston guy. 🤣
