September Class/ Remote A-100s / Language Training
I was recently informed that I made it on the POL register, and I'm now trying to figure out how I should plan for the next several months, as I'm currently living and working abroad. On that note, I had a couple of questions:
1) It seems like it's been a couple weeks since someone last asked about the September A-100, so I thought I'd revive the question: Does anyone have any fresh information on it? To my understanding, no non-fellow invites have gone out yet, right? Any clues how many non-fellow invites to expect? And the next A-100 after this would usually be in January, right?
2) Since it sounds like the September A-100 would be remote, I was hoping some folks who have gone through it could share their feedback. Can we do it anywhere (including abroad), or only in "friendly" countries, or only in the U.S.? Not sure if there are security precautions or if we'd need to use a VPN or something. Also, what are the typical working hours? Are the participants on video or just audio -- and if the former, is there a dress code? Is it still the standard 5-6 weeks?
3) For those who have completed the remote A-100s: It sounds like pretty much everyone is getting assigned to language training directly after A-100 finishes. Is that true? Any exceptions? And for the language training, is it pretty much the same as the A-100 format, in terms of hours, location, format, etc.?
Sorry for all the questions, but I'm just trying to envision how the rest of the year would unfold if I was fortunate enough to get called up for the September class. Thanks in advance!
