New SSA “Internet Browsing Policy”

Per an email just received: “SSA is implementing additional restrictions to the categories of websites prohibited from government furnished equipment. Effective today, March 6, 2025, the categories include:

-Online shopping

-Sports

-GENERAL NEWS”

That last one is concerning. The other two…I mean, you’re really dumb if you were doing that from government laptops while working, though you were allowed to online shop on a break (why you wouldn’t use your phone is beyond me).

But NEWS? They don’t want us informed or seeing what’s being said so we can relay it to coworkers. This is wild.
