Would this help Federal employees who are vets?
Employees who are vets can buy back their service time but a lot don't do it right away. It costs 3% of the basic pay for the years served. There is a payment system set up and the good news is that as soon as you do it, you get credit for active duty years that are eligible. That can add quickly to your time in service for a RIF and any retirement pay. In the event of a RIF wouldn't this be a good thing to do?
