Stay strong national remote workers
For those of us who are currently classified as fully remote and not in the DC area, it sounds like we are at the bottom of the list for being called back to an office right now. Every list, public and on reddit, that I've seen says they don't have a timeline for us yet.
Many of us were hired as fully remote and needing to live near an office was never part of the equation when we chose where to live, and now we're being told that either we resign by Thursday or we will be asked to start commuting daily: no matter what the distance/time/mountain pass we have to go through to get there.
And they just might figure out a timeline and an office and start forcing that on us.
But they haven't yet.
Let's wait and see what the real deal is before we jump on this wannabe "deal" they keep trying to shove down our throats. Don't make decisions without knowing the facts for BOTH options. Right now we have a nebulous "something someday" directive and a very shady "this will work, we promise" deal.
If going into an office is not a good fit for you, make your stand then - when they actually try to force the issue and you know all the facts of where and how often and what your real options are.
Hold the line, don't resign. 🇺🇸
