Sword's Heir (Dance of Despair Arc Preview #1)(Edited)
[In the year 673 OW on the planet of Everest. An unprecedented era of peace has come to a sudden terrifying halt. The Demon Continent inhabited by monsters and creatures that capture the imagination has invaded the neutral Blacklight District and is preparing to wage full war against the Western Continent consisting of countries that are members of the Unified Confederation a.k.a. the Union or UN. The most powerful international governing body in history. The consequences could be grave and threaten to throw the entirety of society into the throes of despair beyond belief. From the World Congress Centre following a landmark vote in Parliament. Union President Michael Blackwell delivers a message that plays on loudspeakers and televisions everywhere.
"It has been one & a half centuries since the beautiful world of Everest has seen war. The great conflict that preceded this era of peace at one point threatened to burn the planet itself to the ground. However, out of the ashes, a stronger people, a stronger society, a stronger way of life emerged. Countless nations united under one voice, one currency, one language, and one universal desire to beat back the evils that have plagued mankind since the beginning of time itself. We! This Confederation of independent nations. Unprecedented in scope and reach. All value liberty and freedom above all else. Our Union. Is strong. Our enemies. Have decided to repeat the mistakes that ignited the Great War and haunted its survivors. To the Demons and Monsters roaming the Demon Continent & illegally wandering the Blacklight District, I say this. You will not win. The Union will once again prevail and our esteemed guardians and enforcers the Order of Knights will destroy your Brotherhood just as they did almost 2 centuries ago. We know not what has made you turn against us like this after so many years of peaceful co-existence but understand this you will not escape the consequences of murdering our brothers and sister in arms."
