I dislike culture shifting

Does anyone else dislike cukture shifting? It feels like to be antithetical to being a nation state. Which nation would forsake all of its corelands and identity and for something else? Worse is reforming into something completely different, like say italian reforming into tibet horde.

It OK if the tag switch doesn't require culture shifting, like muscovy into Russia, or Jianzhou into Qing. But when you have to unstate to cukture shift for a tag switch it just feels wrong.

When stating new land, if it becomes the majority, a culture shift seems OK, but unstating core lands is what irks me.

Don't get me wrong. I think it is required for WC and certain exploits, but it feel too gimmicky for my liking.
