Why won’t the roms work?? Please help

It has been a while since I did emulation, so I'm using emudeck on my asus ally, I got bios installed and the emudeck is picking it up. Now i downloaded the rom. For now I tried 2. Silent hill 2 and Area 51. 1 extracted them and put the extracted folder in the rom area for ps2. Then I go to open emulation station. It's loads up fine. Shows I have 2 ps2 games then when I I click on the file to start the game it goes black for a second then kicks me out! I'm so confused.
