Hot take: Heatmiser’s Mic City Sons is better than any album off Elliott Smith’s solo career

Don’t get me wrong. I love Elliott smith. Super talented guy and his music hits a certain spot in my playlist that was lacking beforehand. But i find myself returning to mic city sons so much more than any other project by both Heatmiser and Elliott smith. Super catchy songs like get lucky and blue highway, while it still infuses Elliott’s signature style with songs like plainclothes man and half right. I think it’s a very versatile album. I admit that on the lyricism side of things his solo career trumps on every account. Feel free to state your thoughts, I’m open to debate.
