Sighting line lasers from afar

This is my set up for shooting my line laser. 2 pieces of channel with a straight line drawn across. I chose this because it’s what I had laying around the job site. I’ve been thinking of upgrading to a scrap piece of 4x4 if I can find one.

I’m sure others have encountered this problem. I’m trying to sight my laser at a distance and a mark on the floor is not visible. I’ve seen others use a tape measure or a speed square, but I find mine is more visible than their’s.

As it is, it’s hard to sight from a distance. The greater the distance, the greater the accuracy, so I’d like to sight even further if I could. With my current method, I have to walk back and forth several times and I still struggle with perfect accuracy. I’ve considered getting a mini telescope to see my line from afar.

I know with modern tech there must be a better way. Do you have any suggestions? What have you used in the past to sight your laser from afar?

I’m willing to buy something if I need to so I can easily make precise laser shots. Thanks!
