Masters at TU Dresden
Hey everyone,
I’m planning to go to TU Dresden for my masters in Nanoelectronic Systems(haven’t received the offer yet; expecting it to come out in the upcoming week or two).
The course looks really really good and from what I’ve heard and read, Dresden is the silicon saxony of Europe and is the place to be if you want to be in the semiconductor industry (which is what I’m into). Also the faculty in this field is really great from what I’ve heard. Just a couple of things are concerning me and hope y’all could address that (:
(i) Since Dresden is in East Germany, I’ve heard racism exists and apparently (with all due respect), things are getting worse from what I've read and heard. Could y’all provide some insights on how true this is and how the situation is right now there?
(ii) Also heard that Dresden is small, quiet (though beautiful) city. Less events, parties and stuff are there compared to a Hamburg or a Freiburg. Honestly I’d love to have a few parties or events just to let some steam off you know. So yeah, would love to know the thoughts on this topic as well
Appreciate the help a ton in advance. Ty!
