Not for the purists…

This might be old news to some, but I wanted to share my recent method for improving my reading and vocabulary in Spanish.

I've been using ChatGPT to create short stories about topics I'm very familiar with. I ask it to write in A1-level Spanish, which suits my current learning stage. You can customise the difficulty and length to fit your needs.

After generating the stories, I copy and paste them into LingQ. This allows me to practice both reading and listening with material that is highly comprehensible to me.

For example (see images), I’ve got stories on:

  • Everton FC between 1985 and 1989
  • Rocky IV

These are subjects I know inside out, and now I can read about them in Spanish.

ChatGPT also provides audio versions of these lessons, so I can listen to them like podcasts.

The best part is you can do this with any topic that interests you and at any level you want.
