Traditional Language learning faster than the language acquisition method?
Hey all, first time posting here!
So I’ve stumbled across the whole comprehensible input hypothesis from Stephen Krashen and I like the concept. But I have been wondering after watching this video if learning a language through only/mostly CI even for just the beginning stages is the best way to go? I prefer this method over the traditional language learning method to be honest but I feel like this is a way slower process no?
Like if we were to compare 2 guys, each of em using one of the 2 methods to learn the same language for 6 months. Wouldn’t the person that learned through the traditional way be way ahead in terms of conversational fluency and other aspects? Or could I be mistaken? Sorry if this somehow looks like I’m bashing the CI hypothesis, I’m truly not! I’m very curious on your responses and what you guys think of this! 😃
Also I’m only new to this concept so excuse me if I happen to be wrong on the things I said, I only have a few hours of CI on DS after all which makes me only a Superbeginner 😂
