Cancel within 24 Hours

Hello I’d like to get some eCredits and tried booking a flight and canceling right away. However, I was not given the option to have the ticket refunded as eCredits. It went straight to my original payment method. Do you know if getting eCredits can be an option if I cancel within 24 hours?
