Update: $22k Paid in 9 Months!!!

I’m back! Since my last post, I’ve been very regimented with my budget. Reduced my spending and started paying off a ton of stuff. Did a balance transfer with Discover in March of 2024 for my $13k in credit card debt, and as of today I only have $3,800 more to go. Also got a new job which had a nice signing bonus, so I paid off a student loan. CC balance will be paid off by the end of April (0% interest), and then I’m getting a $20k bonus in May. After taxes it’ll be around $11,800, which I’ll use to pay off my car. That will free up $1500 each month, which I’ll use to start funding an emergency savings and make extra student loan payments. I also want to start investing once my emergency fund is fully funded. I know my savings is alarming… I just had to pay $5k to move (first months rent, deposit, and a week of double rent to move) which basically drained me. But I will get it back up and prevail! Thank you everyone who pushed me 9 months ago. So much of it is behavioral. Once I changed my behavior, it got a lot easier. Still much work to be done, but I’m so proud of the progress I’ve made so far.
