How did I finally beat Ornstein and Smough? RAGE!!!

So, I was stuck on Ornstein and Smough like many people, and I was getting a little fed up with constantly having to kill the Giants and the white winged demons, and the Silver Knights, and the Royal Sentinels, so I decided I'd just get to the point where I'd killed them all, and just needed to touch Solaire's summon sign, and go in and fight. Then I'd quit and take a break...chill out...think about it a bit, then get right to the fight after a while.

Well, this plan was going well. I hadn't taken any damage, and I was sniping the last royal sentinel. So far, so good. The royal sentinel goes down, and BAM: Titanite Chunk. I was all 'Man, things are going great. This is a wonderful omen. Lightning Zweihander, here I come.'

I snatch the Titanite chunk, and head to the giant blacksmith. As I'm walking there, I'm thinking, 'Don't do something stupid like hit the blacksmith on accident.' You know, be aware of the worst case scenario... So, I get to the blacksmith, select modify weapon, and then decide I want to check some stats and see if the Lightning Zweihander is the best use of my new Titanite chunk. I back out, and apparently don't hit the start button hard enough, because it doesn't come up. BUT, I've already hit the right bumper to go to my equipped inventory... I hit the blacksmith. I start to panic, and run away.

At this point, I'm a little hopped up, but it isn't too bad. I've heard that if I visit Oswald in the Bell Tower I can have sins forgiven, and the blacksmith won't be chuffed anymore. I go back through Sen's fortress, and get knocked off the ledge by a Man-Serpent, and killed by a Titanite Demon. The rage is starting to build, but I'm still keeping a lid on it. I go back through, and kill the Man-serpents with particular relish. I head to the Bell tower, and on the way take a bunch of hits from the hollows in the chapel. They don't kill me, but they get me saying things I wouldn't say in front of my grandmother.

Anyway, I get to Oswald. Alright, let's get that slate clean... It costs 120,000 souls. That number pisses me off so much, that I kill Oswald. Raw Halberd through the gut. Now... I'm really fuming. I have to kill the Blacksmith. I have no humanity to summon Solaire, so I have to go farm some. I call every rat in the Depths I kill a motherfucker, and I only end up getting 3 humanity in an hour of farming. I'd only planned on getting to just before Pointy and Roundy, but now I've been playing for a couple of hours.

I get the humanity. I trek back to Anor Londo. I kill the blacksmith, and the white demons, and the silver knight, and the sentinels. I'm to the point I wanted to be two hours ago, and I'm clenching my teeth. I say 'Fuck it' to my TV, and I charge in. I'm gonna kill these jerks, and blow my nose on their corpses.

I'm cold-blooded. I kill Ornstein without taking any damage. I'm making all the right moves against Roided-Smough. He's down to about three hits. But, I misjudge his charge move, and he knocks me down, and I'm stuck as he charges up his AOE. I've got a sliver of health left. I know, I'm dead, and I'm about to have to buy another X-Box controller, because I'm going to swing this one around my head like a grappling hook and smash it against the wall. But my rage is focused. I stand, and Heavy-D is about kill me, but I dodge it. Estus Flask, dodge, another Estus flask. I'm full health. I charge in, and hit him. I dodge, charge, hit. Only one hit left, and I nail it. I scream at the TV, 'FUCK YOU, YOU FAT PIECE OF SHIT!!! HOW DO YOU LIKE THAT? YOU FUCKED ME OUT OF MY LIGHTNING ZWEIHANDER!!!' Now, that last part wasn't really true, because I fucked myself out of the Lightning Zweihander, but it didn't matter at the time.

Anyway, my rage dissolved, and went up to see Chesty McGee, and get the LordVessel.

And that is how I beat Jake and the Fat Man.

TL: DR - I was prepping to fight O & S, accidentally killed the Blacksmith, went on a bit of a rampage, and then beat those assholes.
