Should I Switch to Clinchers?
Just got my first carbon fiber bike, Trek Domane SL 5 Gen 4, and it came with tubeless 32mm tires.
After hours of YouTube "research," I wonder if tubeless is right for me.
Honestly I have cycling binges, where I will go religiously about once a week, but have months of inactivity, especially during the winter months, when it's dark before I even leave the office.
Considering my months-long bouts of inactivity, should I go back to Clinchers?
I also think the maintenance of topping off sealant is annoying as hell.
On a random note, I think I do prefer the "harder" ride on higher pressures; feels more responsive to me.
Edit: I ride around Los Angeles area... For the past 6 years, I've gotten a puncture on every first ride with a new bike... My luck is that $#@&. Staples, nails, glass, broken picture frames... You name it.
Edit 2: Thanks everyone for your input! I decided to give tubeless a try and got Pirelli Cinturato Velo tires (32c) and Muc-Off sealant.
