Do I really need a $3000+ bike?
Falling victim to the N+1 rule...
Have a Specialized Turbo Creo SL Comp E5, which was a side-grade from my Cannondale Synapse Neo 1. Got an ebike cuz ebikes are fun, and wanted something to help me keep up with my friend who cruises at like 22-23mph.
But started cycling with my girlfriend, who is... Slow 😅 I got her a second-hand Specialized Dolce, and she goes maybe 10mph as of now. Suffice to say, I have my motor off when I'm riding with my girl, but the added weight of my ebike definitely makes it more of a slog to ride alongside her. Test-riding my girl's bike, I definitely love how light and agile my girl's bike is and how much easier it is to get started from a stop.
That said, I am debating if I should save up for the Specialized Roubaix or Trek Domane SL5. Or if I should just save money and go for the Specialized Allez.
I cycle maybe once a week on the weekends. Try to go for at least 90 minutes at a time. We ride exclusively on paved roads.
What do y'all think? Or am I just starting a brand flame war? 😅
