My unicorns finally arrived…

I was born and raised in the north suburbs of Chicago. I grew up watching Michael Jordan play for the Chicago Bulls, and it was an enormous part of my childhood. I absolutely worshipped him in every sense of the word. At halftime, I’d run outside to shoot hoops for 20 minutes until my dad called me back in cause the third quarter was starting.

In an interview with Marvin Shanken of Cigar Aficionado (easily findable on YouTube since I can’t post a link here while also posting pictures), he says that there is no better cigar than the Partagas Lusitanias. I remember watching this interview years ago, which was years before I really got into cigars - well, into them like I am today. And this cigar was always a cigar I wanted to try. A unicorn cigar that I knew I had to, and would, one day find.

My first box of Cubans was purchased in January of 2024, so I’m rather new to this game. Since then, I’ve been strictly purchasing from iHavana and RSVP - and the Lusis have eluded me on those sites. FOH intimidated me for the first 9 months of my Cuban-buying tenure, but I forced myself to learn it specifically so I could attain this exact cigar.

And today, that’s exactly what I did. I found my unicorn. I finally got em. And with a box date like this, now I get to keep staring at them for a very long time, wondering how it will taste - cause there ain’t no way I’m touching one of these for at least a year. But I finally got em…
